Creating Cute Owls
For a fun clay project for all ages, create these adorable clay owls. Photos below are from a recent workshop at a local senior living facility. We used self-hardening clay and a combination of acrylic and tempera paints. The owls are simple to make and fun to decorate.
Start by cutting a slab circle. Fold two sides in then fold the top over. Pinch up the ears and add a triangle beak and some round eyes. Use whatever tools you have handy to create texture for the wings and face, and emphasis for the eyes and ears. Paint.
These adorable owls are made with self-hardening clay, so no firing is required. You can make them with low or high-fire clay as well.
If you are interested in scheduling a workshop like this for your group or facility, please give us a call! We have a variety of great projects like these great owls, and we bring helpers and all the supplies to your location.
